How is the email list formatted?
The standard format is Microsoft Excel .csv format. & .txt files. The Advantage XB US Business email lists are available in Microsoft Access .mdb and Excel .csv. All email listbase can be formatted in a MySQL Dump for an additional charge.
How do I open the list completely?
Microsoft Excel 2003 has a limit of 65,000 rows Excel 2007 has a limit of 1 million records.
A common challenge clients face is they can not open the files completely because they are using an old version of Microsoft Excel 2003. Files over 1 million need to be imported in Microsoft Access or broken into smaller increments using text pad. It is the clients responsibility to be aware they are purchasing a large list and that they have the software requirements to handle a large list. Microsoft offers a free 60 day trial of Microsoft Office & excel 2007.

How do I unzip a file or folder?
If you receive a Zip file, you need to uncompress or unzip the file to use it.
1. Double-click on the Zip file.
2. It should expand automatically.
3. A file or folder with the same name (without the Zip) should appear.
4. Drag the contents of the Zip file to the desktop (or another location). When you do this, you will be copying the information from the Zip file to the computer. This will be your working copy of the email list from the Zip file.
5. Close the Zip file window. You may keep the Zip file or delete it.

How to split a large list with TextPad?
Our email marketing system accepts files under 40mb to be uploaded into our system and would recommend that lists be around 20mb in size.
For larger lists that exceed are maximum list of 40mb the list will need to be split.
An easy way to split a list is to use a text editor such as TextPad from http://www.textpad.com
TextPad has a feature that allows you to split a list.
Here's an example your list 50mb and contains 500,000 email addresses.
And for this instance we are going to split the list into five separate lists that each contain 100,000 emails.
Run the TextPad program.
Next, inside TextPad click on the File menu and select the Open menu option.
Make sure in the Files of type drop down box that "All Files (*.*)" is selected.
Browse to your list and select and click the Open button the list will now load into TextPad.
Next go to the Search menu in TextPad and click on the Go To link under the Search menu.
In the Go To screen select Line and enter 100,000 for this example. Which will select the first 100,000 lines and check the Extend selection checkbox then click the GoTo button.
The first 100,000 lines should now be highlighted. We are now going to cut this information by going to the Edit menu and click on the Cut menu.
Now we are going to go to the File menu and click on New. A new document will load and we are going to paste that information that we cut. We do this by going to the Edit menu and click on Paste. This should now paste the first 100,000 rows in the document.
Now that we have the information in a new document we are going to save the document. We do this by going to the File menu and click Save. Enter a name for the list for example ListNamePart1.csv and now this list is ready to be uploaded into the system.
To get the rest of the information in the list repeat the above steps on your main list. The only thing different is you will need to insert the header row on the very first line of each list before you paste the data that you cut.

Monthly, with over 2 million updates a month. Updates are available for an additional cost. Most clients update the database 1 or 2 times a year.

Because of the size of the consumer data files, we have formatted them in .txt file format. which should be imported directly into an Access Database.
How is my data delivered?
During normal business hours a download link will be emailed within 15 minutes of an order being processed. Off hour orders will be processed the following day.
For security, clients using free email accounts may be require additional ID verification before database will be released.
Are there any print or yearly usage limits?
Most list companies rent the data to you for a 1 time use. With email-list.com you own the data to use over and over again. Unlimited printing & exporting! You may not resell the database.
